We are Wiltshire's first academy. We opened in September 2009 in the buildings of our predecessor school and will move onto a new £32million green field campus in 2011.  Our new building is now starting to take shape, with the huge tower crane having become a prominent local landmark.  When full we will have 1250 students, including post-16 and boarding places for 100. Our academy is sponsored by Wellington College - one of the UK's leading co-educational independent schools.  I am delighted by the local support for the academy, which is intended to be a great source of civic pride for Tidworth, Ludgershall and surrounding villages. 

Academy featured in Times Educational Supplement

Our academy was featured in a three page article in the TES on December 18th, which looked at the question of sponsorship by independent schools.  "It is clear..that the atmosphere is buoyant at Wellington Academy.  Pupils praise their new teachers, 100-minute lessons and uniforms, and look forward to the completion of their new building...", was the summary.  TES journalist Irena Barker spent the morning in the academy, talking to students and staff.
